Dividends pay dividends
One of the most proven investments is dividend-paying equities.
When times are tough and growth is low, dividend stocks outperform. It’s an old maxim, but it’s great to see a recent report find exactly that, yet again.
Peter Buchanan of CIBC World Markets wrote that Canadian dividend stocks beat the S&P/TSX Composite Index by an average of five per cent in years of low growth – U.S. dividend stocks top the S&P 500 by more than nine per cent. The report reinforces the dividends in tough times philosophy.
It’s said that past is prologue.
Consider dividend-paying equities.
